Job Vacancies:
FULL-TIME ANIMAL KEEPER
The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills. They must be confident and outgoing, able to carry out displays and talks in front of a watching audience. Showmanship is integral! Education is of high priority at the park, therefore the candidate must be assertive and secure when in charge of a school group. They will be able to manage their own time effectively and able to work both on their own and as part of a team: initiative and passion are a must. They will have the confidence to learn the skills required for falconry, and able to work with any animal housed at the park.
Although a qualification is not entirely necessary, prospective applicants must have experience and/or a degree that is relevant to the sector. All applicants must be able to work weekends and holidays, including bank holidays. This is the perfect opportunity for someone fresh into the animal care business that needs a bit more experience under their belt. The position will run until at least August 31st 2012, with a possible 4-8 weeks on top of that. The successful candidate, on completion of the full season, will be sent on a LANTRA ‘Beginning Falconry’ course, fully paid for by the Butterfly and Wildlife Park.
